MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University returned to the win column with a dominant performance against Warner on Divine Nine Day, 73-62. FMU dominated the first half, exploding to an early 20-8 lead after the first quarter and maintained that gap for much of the day, only allowing Warner to get as close as eight points to the lead.
Junior
Kalea Rainey led the team in scoring with 15 points on 4-of-9 from the field, along with five rebounds. Senior
Jasmine Worthy earned another double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the game, while teammate
Sa'mya Stevens added 12 points for the Lions.
The win moves FMU to 10-7 on the year and 5-5 in conference play.
The Lions return to action Saturday, January 31, when they'll travel to Ave Maria. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
