#9 Southeastern Fire cruise past FMU Lions in Sun Conference competition

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. | Florida Memorial (0-3, 0-2) fell 14-0 to the ninth ranked team in the NAIA, Southeastern, at Broward College South Campus Field.

Striker Kelsey Akins returned to the pitch after missing the conference opener due to injury and made a difference up top for the Lions, working with attacker Amealia Smith.

Ciera Taylor, Johana Karbanova and Nathaly Valladares held it down for the back line while Clarisa DuBois and Mallory Pastorius made their debut with FMU.

FMU goalkeeper Hailey Ilijin stayed occupied all evening. The sophomore keeper and presidential scholar finished with 11 saves in the loss.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, October 7 as they hit the road to face SCAD-Savannah in conference play. Kickoff is set for Saturday afternoon in Georgia.
