Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. | After a tight three quarters, Florida Memorial trailed Xavier 49-45 in the fourth quarter before generating a 25-9 run to complete the comeback and take the 70-58 win. With the victory, FMU sweeps the 2023 Keiser New Year's Classic.

The Lions were led by former all-SUN selection Chantel Barnett, who finished with a game-high 20 points, going 6-of-11 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Graduate student Dasiah Thornton followed suit with 15 points, going 3-of-5 from downtown along with seven rebounds, while Philly native Nyah Johnson chipped in 12 points for the Lions, going a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.

The win marks the third straight for Florida Memorial, improving their record to 8-4 on the season.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, January 6, where they'll host the Warner Royals in the conference opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
