MIAMI, Fla. – In a big week for conference hoops, big players stepped up.
Aliyah-Deen Ahmad has led Florida Memorial to a regular season conference championship as she earned her fifth SUN Women's Basketball conference player of the week award. Women's Lacrosse begins officially as a league sport, while baseball and softball teams take to the diamond in loads of action.
These awards are based on performances from February 6 to February 12.

Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Aliyah-Deen Ahmad – (RV) Florida Memorial | Sr. – Guard – Corona, Calif.
Aliyah-Deen, now the 5x SUN Player of the Week, continues her domination with another stellar week, averaging 26 points on 58 percent shooting from the field to go along with nine rebounds, six assists and four steals for the week. The Lions (RV) defeated Southeastern for their 14th conference win in a row, clinching the SUN Women's Basketball Regular Season title.

Sun Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Dalon Dean – (RV) St. Thomas | Jr. – Shooting Guard – Orlando, Fla.
Dalon Dean topped another chart on Saturday afternoon becoming the single season leader in 3-pointers made with 95 and counting. The Houston, Texas-native has dominated the Gyrenes putting up 22 in the first. Dean leads the NAIA in 3-point baskets made. The nine-3's also tied a program record for most in a game. Dean had a great week, averaging 27 points, shooting 57.1 from the field and 47.8 from behind the arc. The Bobcats are still in contention for the top-2 seeds in the conference.
