MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University's women's volleyball team took on Webber International University in conference action, where they fell 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-14) at the FMU Wellness Center. Despite keeping pace in the first set, the Lions failed to replicate the same success in the second and thirds sets in the loss to the Warriors.
FMU generated 25 kills in the match, led by freshman
Desiree Donald with seven. Junior
Julia Carneiro led the team in aces with two and blocks with five, while freshman
Lauryn Brown led in assists with 15. On the defensive end Donald led the way in digs with eight.
The loss marks the 10th straight for FMU, dropping them to 1-12 on the year and 0-4 in conference play.
The Lions return to action Wednesday, September 25, where they'll take on No. 10 St. Thomas University in the Battle of Miami Gardens. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
