MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University's volleyball team dropped its conference opener to Southeastern University 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-10) at the FMU Wellness Center. Despite keeping pace with the Fire early, the Lions couldn't keep up, resulting in the loss.
FMU generated 16 kills in the match, with freshman Juliana Medina leading the team with seven, but allowed 42 to the Fire. Freshman setter Lauryn Brown led the team in assists with 14 while leading on the defensive end with seven digs.
The contest drops FMU to 1-8 on the year and 0-1 in conference play.
The Lions return to action Wednesday, September 11, where they'll travel to Ave Maria to take on the Gyrenes. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Tom Golisano Field House.
