TAMPA, Fla. — Florida Memorial will open the 2025-26 season as the preseason favorite in Sun Conference Women's Basketball, earning 59 points and five first-place votes in the poll of league head coaches.
The Lions enter the new campaign as the defending Sun Conference regular season and tournament champions after finishing the 2024-25 season with a 24-5 overall record and a 13-3 mark in league play.
Southeastern and St. Thomas tied for second in the poll with 55 points apiece, each collecting two first-place votes. The Fire posted a 24-7 overall record and went 13-3 in conference play last season, finishing as the Sun Conference Tournament runner-up and earning a berth to the NAIA National Tournament. St. Thomas closed the 2024-25 campaign at 19-9 overall and 12-4 in league action.
Keiser ranks fifth in the poll with 37 points after recording a 19-9 overall mark and 12-4 conference record last season. Coastal Georgia (42) sits fourth, followed by Warner (25), Webber International (22), New College of Florida (20), and Ave Maria (14).
Conference play is scheduled to begin Saturday, November 15, with the Sun Conference Tournament tipping off on Tuesday, February 24.
