Box Score HIALEAH, Fla. | After being outscored 33-16 in the first half against the Conquistadors, FMU faced a difficult challenge heading into the half. While the Lions kept close with Florida National in the second half, the gap was too much to overcome as Florida Memorial fell 54-66 in their second contest against FNU.
The Lions were led by guard
Dasiah Thornton, who finished with 20 points, going 8-of-16 from the field along with six rebounds. Philly native
Nyah Johnson added nine points, including two steals, while Fort Lauderdale native
Cor'Niya Johnson chipped in eight points for the Lions.
The loss drops FMU to 9-11 on the year, while remaining 1-6 in conference play.
The Lions return to action Saturday, February 3, where they'll resume conference play with a road game against Warner. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Lake Wales, Fla.
