Lions drop road contest against Warner

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. | Florida Memorial's trip to Lake Wales ends in a 57-68 loss to Warner, completing the season sweep for Warner. After a seven-point performance in the first quarter, FMU outscored the Royals in the second and third, but struggles in the fourth quarter resulted in the loss for the defending SUN Conference champions.

The Lions were led by guard Dasiah Thornton, who finished with 19 points along with seven rebounds. Junior Cor'Niya Johnson added 10 points for the Lions, going 5-of-9 from the field along with five rebounds while graduate student Madison Sjogreen chipped in nine points for the Lions.

The loss drops FMU to 9-12 on the year and 1-7 in conference play.

The Lions return to action Wednesday, February 7, where they'll host St. Thomas in round two of the Battle of Miami Gardens. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
